Flashback to 3 and a half years ago:

The Smith household was bustling once again. The last few months had been super busy with the young family of Mike, Cheryl, and little Kyle. New baby fever was in the air as the Smith's were expecting another baby boy within the next few days. All sorts of friends and family were coming out of the woodwork to celebrate and 'help' with the preparation of the new baby. Not only was everyone trying to visit, but Kyle had just turned 3 the week prior. Their tot was sprouting up faster than either of them anticipated and was running around being the center of attention when company was there. Mike and Cheryl were so glad that Kyle was so excited for the new baby. He had been running around to all the company and looking at them with his cute toddler spectacles asking them,

"Hey! Hey! Guess what (insert relative/friend here)? Ima gonna be a big bwother!"

All of the guests got a hoot out of that. The old spare bedroom had finally been renovated to the new baby's nursery/room complete with crib, changing table, little blue cute decorations, and some baby toys for when he was older. Kyle was helpful in his own way as he gave his little unborn brother all of his old diapers as Kyle was now a 'Big Boy' and wears Pull-Ups. Granted, the new baby wouldn't need them for at least two years because of his size but it's the thought that counts. I guess. Kyle also had no problem telling everyone about his 'Big Boy' status as well,

"Hey (insert relative/friend here)! I went poopies/pee-pees in da potty and not my pants cause ima big boy!!"

Not all the guests thought that was as cute as the 'big brother' news. Oh yes, everyone was also intrigued/anxious/excited/mad that Mike and Cheryl have not announced the new baby's name yet. They even kept it a secret from Kyle as most toddlers don't have the greatest filter as noted earlier.

The day finally came for the new baby to be born. The little unborn cub wanted to come out on his own terms as Cheryl's water broke as they were eating pizza for dinner one night. Mike jumped into action as he got his wife in the car and dropped Kyle off at the neighbors house while they went to the hospital. Kyle was dropped off at Trevor's and Linda's who were a young couple next door with a newborn as well. Mike had previously asked them if they would watch Kyle in the event of a late night hospital run and they were more than happy to help. Kyle stayed with the neighbors for the night while the rest of the family went to the hospital. After a few hours of labor, the new baby was finally born healthy and happy. Well, at least as happy as a newborn can be. Everyone crowded into the room once the baby and Cheryl were cleaned up and anticipated the name. To their disappointment, Mike and Cheryl decided not to tell them until they had told their now oldest cub the name first. Everyone moaned, but understood as they waited for another day until Kyle could be there.

After two days in the hospital, it was time to bring the baby home. Mike and Cheryl loaded up the car with the new baby and headed home with their entourage in tow. They arrived home and Mike brought Cheryl and the newborn inside. Once they were all settled he went next door to pick up Kyle. Mike knocked and Trevor opened the door as Kyle ran and pounced on his dad's legs.

"Daddy....Where were yous?! Yous were gone for too wong!" complained Kyle who was obviously a little upset that his parents left with little warning or explanation.

"Well, we had to go pick up your new baby brother." explained Mike as Kyle's face lit up, "Also I'm sorry that we left you so quickly and didn't explain. I did get you a little gift though."

Mike reached into his back pocket and pulled out a red ball cap and handed it to Kyle.

"Whhaaooo..." cooed Kyle as he put the hat on his head and it engulfed him.

"giggles You'll grow into it, sport." laughed Mike as he thanked Trevor and Linda and headed back home with Kyle, "C'mon, let's go meet your baby brother."

The two hurried home and once they got inside Kyle rushed to the den where Cheryl and the baby were.

"Mom! Mom! Isthebabyhere?! Isthebabyhere?!" shouted Kyle as he was collectively 'shushed' by the crowd of people in the room.

"Giggles Yes sweety. Come sit on the couch and I'll let you hold him." whispered Cheryl as she patted the seat next to her "You look very handsome in that hat by the way."

Kyle blushed a little at the 'handsome' comment as he climbed up on the couch. Once Kyle got settled, Cheryl carefully passed the sleeping baby to him.

"Say hello to your little brother, Caiden." announced Cheryl as the crowd collectively 'awed'.

"He's so cute." whispered Kyle as he gently rocked his brother.
