Here we have the steampunky artists trog. the large paintbrush device is a 'Light Brush' and the palette holds four lightbulbs. The paint tubes on her sash are merely ornamental and are just a status symbol. sometimes they're filled with water for the look of filled tubes, sometimes filled with cider (when they want to smuggle booze about). the way the light brush works is when you touch the nib of the brush to a bulb, the fluorescent tube in the brush turns to the selected colour from the palette, fuelling the brush with the colour. Basically to aim the brush you twist the head of the brush slightly (where the right hand is grasping) and it fires a laser of light. It is primarily a drawing device, sometimes used as a weapon, mostly an object of fun and work.
