Pelican Scroll

Well it is not perfect but it has gold leafing and calligraphy now (I am a terrible calligrapher but had a deadline). Based on the Rothschild Mahor, ornamental page, rules for Rosh Ha-Shanah, fol.226v. Florence 1492.This is 11 x 15, Micron pens, Acrylic, Gold leaf on Velum (animal skin not paper). Please note the black areas on the gold is just bad photo problems, the gold leafing is solid and even on the bottom and has NO black splotches.

Very impressive. Did you use the broad nib pen for the calligraphy or did you draw each letter?

Because of the very small size of the letters and the odd font, after trying several (well 2) nibs, I ended up drawing the letters using both a wide and thin pen/marker. Calligraphy is NOt my thing.

Yes, a real pain, the gold leafing was worse! LOL
