Hidden in the mountains of southern Kasakhstan are the remains of Bayshansay, a former mining city from Soviet times. Now it is a ghost town, but in the valley, along a creek and surrounded by a post doomsday landscape and a lot of beautiful nature, some people are still living, not more than 40 by my estimation.
The old iron ore mine is no more working, but easy to access.

Great photos! It's brave of you to be exploring those mines. I've always found abandoned mines to be extremely creepy to say the least.
