Never trust a human
Don't take the offered hand
They'll tell you that they love you
But never understand
Paws are strong, but clumsy
And fur is soft, but numb
As none may know save those who
Have lacked a grasping thumb
Cute is fun, but fleeting
And novelty soon dies
Paws can't feel what hands do
No matter how they try
So no, don't trust a human
Don't take the offered hand
They'll never truly love you
They cannot understand

Your eyes struggle to focus
Still you can't quite see
So vulnerable, adorable
Just stay here close to me
Let me be your armor
Just for a little while
It's okay to falter
When you rise again to smile
Know you'll be protected
When all once strong seems weak
That I will stand beside you
Help find the things you seek
Your eyes struggle to focus
But you can trust in me
I'll keep you safe and warm until
It's time to set you free

Stand proud, broken boy
Your day will never dawn
Time will die ere they accept
The path you walk upon
Stand proud, hairless wolf
Of ears and tail been shorn
You are a thing too different
To garner aught but scorn
Stand proud anyhow
Stand to prove them wrong
Stand until they pull you down
For hate is always strong
Stand proud, useless cur
Stand tall for spite and pride
Stand for those who aren't the same
But lack the wit to hide
Love Machine, June 6 2015
My love is something you can't know
Although I'd gladly give it
For feelings are not bits nor bytes
To know it, you must live it
Then tell you of the things I feel?
I would, if I were able
But where I have a heart and blood
You have but optic cable
Can you tell me how it feels
To have your mutex lock?
Or when a buffer underflows
The beating of your clock?
Nor can I tell you aught of love
'Least not the love I feel
For if you've never felt it
No words could make it real

Tell me that I'm here to stay
That I'm not like the rest
Tell me I can hold the course
And pass the final test
Tell me that I will not fade
That time will break ere I
Tell me I'll still be here
When stars grow cold and die
Tell me that my flame is true
And that I shall endure
Tell me I won't fall away
As those who went before
Tell me, oh, please tell me
Whisper those weary lies
Tell me I'm eternal
As my flame flickers and dies
Untitled, March 26 2012
Come please close my eyes for me
They have seen all they can take
My heart is worn and spirit torn
From watching their dreams break
Come please lay my fears to rest
Let sleep come without aid
No one to count the fearful cost
Of debts I left unpaid
Come please fill my mind with ease
Whisper your gentle lie
Tell me all is as should be
And that all things must die
So come please close my eyes for me
Set coin below my tongue
Remind me of the days gone by
When we were strong, and young
Untitled, March 23 2015
Tell me that it mattered
The battles that we won
The blood and sweat and endless sand
Beneath the blazing sun
Help me mend my broken faith
In all that we have done
The cause we lost in foreign land
As we fell one by one
Please show me the meaning
Where time has lent me none
Aid me now to understand
The things I can't outrun
Let me see the reason
Of why we took our stand
And shed our blood, father and son
On thankless foreign sand
Scrap-a-flow, April 15, 2013
Ships of silver starlight
Wracked on an airless shore
A thousand miles from nowhere
They venture never more
Scrap-a-flow they call it;
Coast of skeletons and char
Where dwell the shades of Ceti Prime
And ghosts of lost Losgar
Six score and seventeen there were
Each ship so pure and fine
The argent fleet of starlight
That held that thin white line
From Procyon to Vega
And 'cross Orion's Arm
Where c-beams blink and glitter
And none escape from harm
A line of sand drawn in the stars
A shield against the flames
A sword to hold the dark at bay
Yet no one knows their names
For heroes when the war is won
Ride home to great acclaim
But weapons when their time has passed
They fare not quite the same
And so the silver ships, they sail
The skies of Scrap-a-flow
The breakers yard of Ceti Prime
Where all once great, they go

Broken legs, carry me home
From lands of falling sky
Dead gray dust forever
Where no one hears you cry
Hold me, broken hands
Hold me from the pain
I see the broken faces
Can't recall the names
Broken teeth, tell me
Tell me it's all right
Tell me it's all over
Tell me who won the fight
Broken eyes, see me
See what I have done
See the bloody gauntlet
The ridges overrun
And broken wings, free me
From lands of falling sky
The dead are dust forever
I've seen too many die
Perverts!, Feb 23 2014
I used to be a pervert
But now I've seen the light
It's you all who are fucked up
And me who is all right
I pity him who can't enjoy
All of my favorite kinks
In fact there's probably something wrong
With how he feels or thinks
I'll pathologize such persons
And make for them a pill
A concentrate of all that's great
Which used to make them ill
It is my Dogly Duty
There's no call to thank my deeds
For to fill the world with perverts
Is all the thanks I need!
I never got around to posting these for various reasons, but looking back at them I think they're worthy of being seen. Cookies for anyone who can find both poems that relate to my other fiction. :3
