Calling by Tonin

Calling

Calling

It’s time again to heed the call
Our fathers once obeyed
For there are too few who recall
The price that must be paid

Yesterday will dawn again
And blood will soak the earth
Innocence, she must be slain
To prove our final worth

For we are still who once we were
And who we shall remain
What once was will reoccur
A link upon the chain

For ever is the end in sight
Yet never quite in reach
Bound to reenact our plight
However we beseech

’Cause it’s our turn to heed the call
The price, it must be paid
Reckoning none can forestall
And fate must be obeyed

History is much more fun before you realize it isn't over.
