Yes - Part 4 came 6 months after the third... This is why I now only post multi-part stories after I've built up a buffer :P

        goodnight to you. :)

hm, I see you've gone back to that icon.
            is it autumn over there?
it's spring here (although it is raining)

            • Link

              wait, why "ouch"
              did I say something wrong?

              • Link

no, just 'ouch' that you can't get access on weekends :)

And yes, it's Autumn here now, so the change seemed right. Hehe, the rain'll be here again soon, i'm sure. At least summer's on it's way for you! :D

oh, of course! (facepalms) now it seems so obvious.

yeah, okay, and yes, I'm looking forward to summer, Swimming is my favourite (of the few I actually like) sport!
although, I really only do it for fun, I don't compete or anything.
by the way, I've used the icon thing, you know, where the user icon appears in text, but it keeps showing your previous icon, like this.

see? that's not your current icon, is it?
                  I've no idea why that's happening. :\

                  • Link

that is my current icon, yes (the one from before the summer one :P)

                    • Link

no, see, the summer one's showing up for me.
hmmm, it must be working normally for you, but it's showing "beach wolf" for me.
                      confusing.

                      • Link

oh, wait, it's fixed itself now, it's showing your current icon now.
wonder why "beach wolf" was still showing up before, though?

    got around to reading this.

quite good, really showcases a "never give up" attitude in the protagonist, it's a clichéd thing for stories, but it definitely flows with the storyline and works quite well.

I can't imagine how difficult it would be in real life to do anything Sam has done in this part, logically, it could be explained as the force of willpower over physical limitations, though.

can't wait 'till I can get 'round t reading the next part! :D

Well, adrenaline is a crazy thing! it can make people do things that ordinarily they couldn't, like escape the beating Sam had received. Still, I tried not to overdo it and make him seem 'superhuman' so to speak. :3

Hope you enjoy the next part! ^^

      • Link

        oh, I understand.
the mind goes into overdrive and removes the limiters it puts on people normally, and that shock of adrenaline fuels our most primal instinct: fight-or-flight.
I don't think it seemed superhuman, but then again, Sam isn't human, so I think you could've gotten away with it if you wanted to.

        and I'm sure I will.

        • Link

          (I did :D)

        • Link

well perhaps, seeing as they're not 'human', but I like my characters to have realistic behaviours and what not, espeically in stories of this type :)

          (Glad you liked it ^^)

          • Link

that's fair enough, too much non-realism and things get odd, good to know you can keep these unreal concepts 'grounded'

and of course I did :)
