A Light From Above by Tigris

A Light From Above

Tigris

Max Lennon was on Christmas vacation, so he rented a cabin in the forest. He thought it would be a lovely time to have a week to "find himself" and search his soul for his beliefs, the meaning of life, and bond with nature.

It was a reasonably clear night when he decided it would be nice to go for a hike to do star-gazing. Eventually clouds had moved in and the light dusting of snow had turned into a blizzard. The snow was so deep it had covered up his pawprints. It made it impossible to decipher which direction he had come from. He found it was quite a challenge nature had set before him. Calmly he marched onwards in search of anything that was recognizable around him. He had walked around for hours, it was now nearing midnight and he was very cold and hungry. Just as he was about to lose hope of finding his way back to the cabin, the wind whipped around him, stirring up the snow-filled air. He could hear sounds from above but the wind caused such a racket that the sounds were drowned out. Suddenly a light shined down on him, it was too bright to see what it was coming from. He shielded his eyes with his paw, and stepped forward a bit to get his face out of the light. That's when he saw what it was!

A helicopter search-light? An alien ships' tractor-beam? Santa Clause?

Only Max knows and he's not telling.
