Ah, the call to adventure!

The year is 1939, and the nations of the world have (presumably at least) given up on war and now compete with each other in a space race, touched off by an Anglo-American expedition in 1937. But lurking behind this peaceful foray beyond earth is a world of intrigue, and lurking behind the world of intrigue is a mystery that will unravel the fabric of reality itself!

This is the first bit of the first chapter of my first true sci-fi novel, "The Vimana Incident," set to debut tomorrow at Texas Furry Fiesta and available for online orders soon (I will update this page when the link is available but for now keep checking www.furplanet.com and it'll likely be up before very long).

I think I may have posted a very early version of this previously under the title "Life was rather splendid," but I can't find that piece in my gallery and at any rate, so little of that original text is left that it doesn't matter.
