Evergreen Aviation Museum- Hughes H4 Hercules Hatch

Threetails

The Hughes H4 Hercules "Spruce Goose" was one of my early inspirations. Echoes of it can be seen in my novel "Escape from St. Arned."

Here we see a hatch that, to my surprise, actually looked a lot like the hatches I described on the sides of the Cirrostratus in my book "Basecraft Cirrostratus," complete with the hook, line, and winch for docking! Those who have read this book know that this is actually an important feature to the plot and I was excited to see an actual craft with something similar to what I'd described.

EDIT: Weasyl turned it sideways. It displays right-side up in the file folder where I keep the original and I can't figure out how to fix it. Weasyl has apparently decided that portrait orientations don't exist all of a sudden perhaps?
