Q - How did Tryana get her facial scars?

A - Tryana got her scars (and partial blinding) during the final fight with the Archdemon in Denerim. Tryana literally climbed the beast (because she’s so damn tiny and it was so huge) in order to deliver the killing blows necessary. The Archdemon, enraged and increasingly desperate, was trying to claw her off of it, It’s claws landed on her face and, thus, the scars and partial blinding.
