There are so many outstanding PS1 and PS2 games that should've gotten a sequel or a better sequel than they did, but either the developers didn't care anymore (which is truly sad) or the more common outcome of the buying company either wanting to get rid of any and all competition, tossing out any ideas for games/characters that weren't/aren't their own, or viewing them as an "intellectual property that little to none care for", i.e. "We can't makes millions on this IP in a few seconds so take that 98% completed game that hundreds of thousands, millions, and/or tens of millions are waiting for and trash it NOW!" (which is heartbreaking). So many magnificent games, brilliant characters, or intelligent and interesting game mechanics that get tossed aside because "We value money over all else. Everything can go burn as long as we have cash!"
