Where to, gov-na-san?

The Pink Rose Of Texas

A 1968 Austin FX4 London cab, known as the "most beautiful taxi" because of its old-fashioned design with a classic appearance and a high body. The history of London taxis stretches back over 300 years to the era of horse-drawn carriages. This particular taxi saw livery service between 1958 and 1997. Although it was officially approved by the British government as a "designated taxi cab", the design has changed very little from the previous model registered back in 1948, so that the design from the "good old days" has been carried down to the present day. The spacious passenger compartment realized by the high body was created from a uniquely British consideration of allowing passengers to be comfortable without having to remove their bowler hats. In spite of its large-sized body, it has a turning radius of 3.8 meters, which is similar to a subcompact. The 2500cc diesel engine gave a tenacious ride. The vehicle was also imported to Japan in the 1990s, and these days it may be seen at wedding halls and other locations throughout the country.

NOTE:

The description was copied from the information on the lid of the model kit. Since the car was also imported to Japan, I chose to put the Japanese number plates on it.
