Why the company which made that car would "borrow" the name from another company which made that same car is anybody's guess.
Anyway, it's sporting the original (uh, restored?) livery of the Gulf Oil Company. I looked it up on Wikipedia, and the company was established long before then: http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_Oil
