The AN557 FireWasp is a space fighter craft designed by "Waddledom" of DeviantArt, and was drawn by me through his request.
According to the artist, it's a medium-sized, heavyweight, single-seater fighter class starship. Its 2 pairs of mass driver rapid cannons have a firing rate of 15 rounds per second. It also carries 2 hypersonic torpedoes in each of its wings. The 4 ramjet engines propel the craft to a top speed of 545 miles per hour. It's also capable of atmospheric flight, though not recommended as it weighs over 4 tons. So I decided to picture them in use by the Zelcronian Space Defense Force. Zelcron is a light-gravity planet, so the fighter craft can take off from the ground and reach the atmosphere (and orbit) in seconds. There are usually 12 of these fighters in use at one time, and the Zelcronians can be highly aggressive toward outsiders...so these ships are the ideal choice for them.
