Here's how she got that "infamous" swimsuit: Dolly and her parents were on their way to the local clothing store to buy new swimsuits. The local radio station was playing a series of summer-themed songs to herald practically every kid's favorite season. When the song "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini" by Bryan Hyland started playing, a shock of realization came over mom's face. "I just remembered a friend of mine getting one of those for her birthday last month," she exclaimed. "She said she didn't like it because the size was too small for her, and she also prefers one-piece swimsuits." "Do you think maybe it'll fit her?" asked dad as he pointed to Dolly, who was in the back seat looking at the scenery. "There's only one way to find out," mom answered as she turned the car around. "Sweetheart," she shouted to Dolly, "I've got a little surprise for you!" "What kind of surprise?" Dolly inquired suspiciously. "Trust me, you'll like it," mom replied as she drove down a side street to her friend's house. Once there, the friend showed the threesome the "teenie weenie bikini". "All right, come this way," said the friend as she and mom escorted Dolly into the bedroom, "and let's see if we can alter it for you." A short while later, as dad was reading a magazine, the two ladies emerged from the bedroom. "I'd like to introduce to you," announced mom, "DOLLY'S NEW SWIMSUIT!!!" "TA-DAAAAH!!!!" exclaimed the little girl as she sprang into the doorway and strutted around in the bikini which now fitted her perfectly. "Ohhhh, you look gorgeous!!!!" exclaimed the applauding dad as Dolly gave him a big "thank you" hug. "It didn't take much to alter it," explained the friend. "Just cut a little off the strings, retie them in the right places, and voila!" "I love it!" said Dolly as she embraced the two ladies. "Thank you." "So are you gonna wear that all day or change back into your regular clothes?" "Sorry, daddy," giggled the blushing child as she went back into the bedroom. "Honey," dad asked mom, "do you think we ever got this excited over new clothes?' "Do you think we ever will?" replied mom. They thought over it for a minute, then replied in unison and with a giggle, "Naaaah!!!!"

And just for the record, there are such things as child-sized string bikinis. I've seen them in the stores recently.
