"Therefore I propose the idea that the beings of the nether are more akin to us rather than malicious spirits or beast."
Murmuring spread across the filled seats of the study hall.
"Indeed, I believe they are creatures with needs and emotions much like ours, being capable of expressing a whole spectrum of emotions from happiness to sadness to more complex emotions such as melancholy and loneliness. Granted, this is assuming if the nether is a multiple rather than a singular, however I believe assuming the nether is a singular being is less likely than it being a multiple. While I understand there is barely any evidence as of yet to support my hypothesis', I believe that the fact that they know our language is already proof enough that they are intelligent and could possibly be conversed with. This I intend to achieve by employing amnesiacs and several other safety measures to retain the intactness of my mind. Eventually I should be able to get their attention, and if my hypothesis is correct, have a conversation with them, or it."
"How do you intend to prove that you had a conversation with one of them?"
"While I intend to document everything to the most minute of detail, the final phase of my experiment will be a rather radical one at that. I intend to transport one of them to our world, if we are able to traverse to their world, the opposite should also be possible."
The study hall filled with whispers from the crowd, "We already know that at the very least a part of the nether is hostile against us, have you considered the fact that you bringing one of them here could have cataclysmic effects?"
"That is what the conversation part is for, I hope to be able to judge whether or not they have malicious intent. Much like in our world, there are generous and kind aspects to it as well as hostile. We do not even know for sure if what we consider hostile is hostility from their point of view, their world is so incredibly different that same concepts can have varying meanings. However I do feel that even being able to trade even a handful of words would be of incredible scientific value and enough to change our view of the entire universe and our existence."

'While some researchers and magi have attempted to make contact with the nether, no success has been yet recorded, most researchers going insane or dying in the process, which in turn has distraught many others from even attempting this feat. The nether only seems to communicate one way and doesn't either understand or cannot hear the visitors speaking to it. Now majority of institutions see research into this topic as suicide and refuse to allot any resources to it, but there are still some ambitious or reckless enough to attempt this.'
