"It had been several months since the first sighting of the amalgamate and regardless of everything, it had turned out to be too adaptable for the native inhabitants of this planet. Despite several successful efforts to curb its growth, new amalgamate colonies would appear seemingly out of nowhere to take the place of the one that was destroyed. Small pockets of uninfected areas still remain and some continents are yet untouched by the amalgamate, however it was clear at this point that chances to survive against this scourge were depressingly low as there were more landmass covered by the amalgamate than landmass that was still pure.

Beneath the surface many bunkers which were built to store space faring rockets that would be sent off of the planet into space with their cryogenically frozen crew stored in them. These rockets would preserve the last bits of the sentient species on the planet and be launched when the situation of the planet would have become entirely unmanageable. When launched, these rockets would land years later on the few planets that were deemed at least somewhat habitable that were located in the nearby star systems. As a twisted turn of fate however, as the amalgamate grew in size it also managed to invade several of these bunkers that were located inside the infested areas and spread itself onto and inside the space ships. Once the alignment of the planet was right the automated systems triggered the launch of all of the rockets, including the ones infested with the amalgamate, allowing several of hives of the amalgamate to enter space where it could eventually land into a planet containing life where it could begin anew. Those who were inside the rockets that managed to remain uncontaminated would be blissfully unaware of what their species had just allowed to happen, as now other planets would be at risk of becoming contaminated with the amalgamate. Now what was supposed to save their species may just have doomed several others."
