Log #4 found at crash site -

"The situation here is deteriorating at an exponential rate. We finally managed to find out what was wrong with the air filtration systems and it seems we may have to abandon the whole mission. I found some of those purple plants inside the ducts, the air thick with their spores in there. Somehow it seems the organism got on board our vessel despite the sterilization, I have my suspects, our engineer had been acting strangely ever since we left and has been absent from all of the community events. I do not know why the computers wouldn't have picked this up before if it weren't for some external tampering of the equipment. I had to spend the following few hours trying to remove them from the vent, but they had a strange viscous tar like consistency, so scraping them off from the delicate ventilation system was a challenge. I didn't want to panic anyone so I just threw the plants, that already had turned into this strange oil like goo inside the glass container, out of one of the air locks. I'll have to keep my eyes open for our engineer though."

Log #7, almost consumed by the amalgamate and barely readable -

"The engineer locked themselves inside the cockpit early this morning. Most of us are still in cryosleep, me and a few others decided to wake up a few people, but to avoid any large scale chaos we decided against waking everyone up, and to protect them from whatever is going on here. He seems to have barricaded the door or broke its opening mechanism as we cannot get the door to open into the cockpit. I fear what he might do due to his recent instability. We have already began using some makeshift breathing filters as we have began to notice some dark particles floating in the air and we do not want to take any risks."

Log #8, found near the crash site, apparently written by the engineer -

"I know what they are up to. I wont let them take me and throw me out. I'll get back to earth and see my family. I can't let them take me, I don't trust them, they'll see once we get back. They'll see."

Log #10, found inside something that could have been a drawer -

"Things have become even worse now. Just recently outside the room I am locked in right now some of that organism fell through the ceiling tiles and right on top of our mechanic as a pipe burst open above us. She wasn't even able to let out a sound before his whole head was covered in it, only being able to let out this horrible muffled scream as it began to consume her. I know what that thing does and she was already beyond any help."

Log #11, found sealed inside a glass container -

"I had to regain my composure after having to witness that. I am currently locked inside the security room and things unfortunately have not become any better according to the video streams. It has only been 2 hours now and I can already hear something banging against the door. I think it is whatever she turned into. From one of the video streams inside the green room I could see one of our crew members doing the routine checkup on the plants. The green room is on the other side of the ship and I don't think he had heard the commotion there. Before I managed to get their attention a large still somewhat unformed amalgamate form bursts from the ceiling, the majority of the viscous fluid falling behind them, however before I could even hope he could get away large strands of the amalgamate emerge from the goo and latch around him, the tentacles pulling them inside of the largely unformed amalgamate form. I should have looked away as he tried to struggle against the amalgamate as he was pulled inside, but I am afraid my time here is numbered as well and documenting this is the only thing I can do. After awhile the amalgamate solidified around the former crew member and I could see a large broodlord form now standing inside the green room. The thing now curiously touching the glass in front of the plants like a child with its strange appendages, as if it didn't know how glass worked. Then it slammed its fist against the glass and broke through, the glass digging inside its appendage but it showing no signs of pain. Its arm seemingly to liquefy as it forced its hand inside, spreading the amalgamate on the plants. The plants seeming to wither before they would turn into plants similar to what we found back on Xerx-1. It would then continue this process of breaking the glass and spreading the goo on the plants before it moved out of the view of the camera. I then suddenly remembered the people in cryosleep as the banging on the door stopped. I quickly toggled to the stream of the cryosleep chamber only to notice that very same broodlord lumbering in there. It quickly noticed the people inside the cryopods and curiously approached one of them, it trying to slam its appendage into the person inside causing some of the liquid amalgamate to splash out as its appendage collided with the glass window of the pod. Thankfully the pods windows seemed to be made of more reinforced material than the glass windows in the green room. It did this a few times until it stopped and seemed to go dormant. However before long I noticed a large solid claw like appendage grow at the end of its arm, replacing the tentacle like appendages on it before. It then bashed the glass a few times with it before it broke after which it showed its other arm inside the pod and began to fill it up with the amalgamate goo. I didn't want to look at it no more and from the corner of my eye saw a stream of the cockpit. There I saw our engineer sitting on the pilots seat. What was more distressing however was the fact that he did not seem to mind at all that part of the room seemed to be covered in strange amalgamate formations, not unlike the formations I could see forming inside the green room."

Log #13 found inside the demolished security room -

"I figured out what is going on now. The ship is being steered back to earth by our engineer. I do not want to think what this thing could cause if it managed to land on earth. Getting out of this room isn't a possibility anymore as I can see the amalgamate spreading across the hallways inside the ship from the streams. Most of them have shut down or become covered by the amalgamate itself, but I can see various amalgamate forms roaming in the halls from the few streams that are still online. Shortly after the broodlord had filled the cryochamber pods more of those amalgamate forms spilled out from them. I am still trying to hold on in here, I made a makeshift hazmat suit from a few rags and a spacesuit, however the air is becoming increasingly more and more infested by the spores of those creatures and I have to keep wiping my visor every few minutes due to the spores accumulating on all the walls and surfaces, causing all the areas of the ship gain a constantly more and more dark purple sheen."

Log #16 found inside a broodlord -

"The walls are constantly becoming more sticky from the goo. The last stream went down a few moments ago and emergency lights have gone up. The amalgamate has managed to finally break into this room and small bits of it are already seeping in. I am not scared anymore however as I have already become accustomed to the amalgamate in a weird way. At the moment I am just biding my time as I am writing this, though soon we will arrive at earth, so we will see if the amalgamate manages to get to me before that happens. All I can hear anymore is just the faint sound of the amalgamate seeping down upon me as well as the amalgamate moving and reforming outside the room. I already took my helmet off awhile ago as it was becoming very cumbersome to have to keep wiping it, the air isn't that bad in here anyways. It seems that the amalgamate has spared the engines of the ship as I can still feel the ships engines rumble, probably means that we are still on course to earth. How nice it will be to see earth again."

good story. the amalgamate expands very fast. He seems like an unbeatable enemy to anyone.
