Such a strange concept, sacrifice. Would she believe this? One might even see the installation of temporary royalty for such a final yet magical purpose by those retaining the real power.
(Frazeresque cynicism aside, I especially love the little details like the diffuse projection of the backlighting onto that swagged lock of hair near her neck and chin. They add a stark sense of depth to the figure, and the choice of illumination and colours as a whole creates a beautiful yet cold atmosphere.)
