Made this mask in this past iron pour. Craziest iron pour I've ever seen. Two of the three ladles got holes melted in them and then the third one's bars started bending.
This is completely unwearable in iron but I'm capable of making resin ones. c:
Haven't done that yet though. :I
Thanks! :D
I'm planning on making it hangable. My original loops didn't make it in the casting but the way I gated it thankfully solved that problem. c:
It still needs a LOT of cleanup work though. @.@
I sandblasted off all the ceramic shell (the white stuff) and it looks like the teeth are covered in gunky plaque. :P
woa
I remember a while back you mentioned you were working on iron casting
Is this an temporary endeavor for class or are you going to keep making things like this in your own time? (I think you said this was for a class right?)
Yeah, this was for class but I got to make whatever I wanted so it feels more like I did it on my own time, especially since I spent like 2 weeks at home sculpting and making the mold for this guy.
So many things went wrong. :6
I've done the process once before (so now I have 2 iron versions of this->http://thegrindragon.deviantart.com/art/Rub-me-for-Good-Luck-380154087) and everything is unfinished. :\
My instructor was right about the whole "You spend weeks preparing for it. Then you do the pour and are all like 'YEAH FIRE AND MOLTEN IRON!' And then you realize later 'Now you need to break your piece out of the mold and cut off the gates, and chase the metal, and do whatever else you need to to make it a finished piece.'" XD

Dang! That's pretty awesome. x 0 x
Can you hang it on a wall or something?
Can't wait to see more!
