Going with the Flow

The_Dove

Dear viewers, I present to you the Middle Prong of the Little River, a beautiful cascading body of water flowing down from the summits and peaks of the Great Smoky Mountains themselves, carrying all forms of rich sediments and mountain-borne nutrients. I personally became acquainted with this rushing giant during my stay at the nearby Tremont Institute as a study abroad participant at my forestry school in Georgia. Our group participated in a study of benthic macroinvertebrates (both collection and assessment) in order to gauge the quality of the water as well as the presence of any toxic pollutants themselves. But man, oh man, did the current almost knock me off my feet once or twice. Anyone daring to brace the current would do kindly to watch where the place their feet, lest they risk falling below the current or smashing your braincase against some subsurface rocks!
