-It's Not What You Know: Dead Reckoning has helped numerous powerful figures, giving him a reputation for having friends in places high and low

Weaknesses:
-Abraka-What?: Despite having The Sight and an enchanted gun, Jedidiah is largely unlearned in arcane magic, and is largely only capable of producing Taoist sutras by himself
-Tight Budget: Being a Wyrd Hunter doesn't pay well, and many of the materials Dead Reckoning needs are expensive, leading him to be frequently strapped for cash or under-equipped
-What Are You Staring At: Since he deals with the supernatural, few people believe that Dead Reckoning is actually sane or worth calling a superhero

Background: At a tender age of 5, Jedidiah was playing in his back yard when he saw something incredible: a furson locked in a life-or-death battle with what seemed to be a bestial red Injun. But, when he pointed it out to his mother, she didn't see anything but a dust devil. At least, until the final blow was struck, at which point both the furson and his opponent appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. The strange furson explained that he was from a militia-like branch of the famed Inquisition, known as Wyrd Watchers - a sort of police that regulated the interactions between the mortal and the magical - and his opponent had been a kind of Navajo sorcerer known as a skinwalker. He also pointed out that Jedidiah had a gift - The Sight, an ability that would let him see through the magic that hid the supernatural from most of the world.

Jedidiah quickly jumped at the chance to become a Wyrd Watcher himself. He spent the next two decades of his life in relative isolation undergoing rigorous physical and mental training, learning the ins and outs of supernatural beings, pistol shooting, hand-to-hand combat, and techniques that allowed mortals to fight on even footing with creatures of incredible power. Though he would often grow bored of one-handed push-ups and studying dusty old tomes, he remained patient, knowing that his chance would come.

That chance came when reports trickled down from Canada about a camp of people who had turned to cannibalism, despite having plenty of food stocked. Jedidiah's master quickly recognized this as a wendigo attack. Since wendigos thrive on turning mortals against each other, Jed, who had been given the nickname Dead Reckoning for his skill with navigating, was sent into the tundra alone.

After his last stop in civilization, he traveled for two days until he reached the campsite. As he approached, he slowly felt an illogical hunger growing inside of him, an obsessive thought that he was going to starve to death unless he killed and ate another furson. The urges grew so bad, that he shot himself in the foot to distract himself. This, however, also drew out the wendigo and the last three campers, who had already gnawed through their own lips and were on the verge of transforming themselves. The pitch battle that followed saw three fursons and a monster dead on a funeral pyre, and Dead Reckoning nursing a bloody stump where one of his fingers had been eaten.

At long last, his apprenticeship was over. Jedidiah moved to Colmaton, and set himself up as a picker and a scrapper. This gave him plenty of excuses for his seemingly eccentric behavior, and for traveling to lonely places to do his real job. After four years, he'd developed quite a resume, having survived a voodoo priest's ill intent, helped a vampire queen weed out a traitor in her ranks, and meeting with the Norse god Odin himself. Still, he remains humble, knowing he's just a mortal with a job to do. Albeit a strange job...

Personality: Jedidiah is a bit rough around the edges, and not quite sure of himself around lots of people. This is especially true if he's around a woman that he finds attractive, leading him to constantly retract statements that he thinks sound stupid, only to replace them with ones that are even worse. When he's on the job, though, the mumbling, bungling recluse becomes incredibly competent, able to match wits with groups as diverse as fae, vampires, trolls, and therianthropes without committing a single faux pas. He has very few vices, one of those being Jack Daniels whiskey. He also insists that he doesn't register as a super with the BOS: in his mind, he's not a super, regardless of his toys, and he doesn't want to be bogged down with paperwork outside of the regular reports he draws up for the mysterious head of the Wyrd Watchers, who turns those over to the BOS supernatural division and the Inquisition to demonstrate that they are handling things correctly.
