Weapons/Items:
-Carving and sculpting tools
-Numerous carvings, sculptings, and engravings (see Powers)
-BOS Communicator

Personal Transport: None

Powers/Abilities:
-Totem magic: Effigy is a student in an ancient, seldom-practiced art. By making carefully shaped carvings, sculptings, and engravings from the correct materials, he can summon creatures by destroying this creation. The creatures last for four hours, or until Max dismisses them.
Known totems:
-Scarab (clay)
-Spirit buffalo (pipestone)
-Minotaur (cow horn)
-Mystic cobra (bamboo)
-Jotun (whetstone)
-Spellwrecker (hematite)
-Leviathan (shark tooth)
-War Mammoth (ivory)
-Purity maiden (silver)
-Dryad healer (willow wood)
-Ancestral guard (jade)
-Grimstalker (furson's kneecap)
-Beginning training in hapkaido and tae kwon do

Strengths:
-Master and Apprentice: Max is being trained by the original Effigy, giving him unique insight into the nature of totem magic, along with other knowledge normally gained in the school of hard knocks
-Versatility: The sheer number of carvings Effigy can carry let him fulfill just about any role, including transport, healer, reconnaissance, and combat
-Mystic Research: Max's grandfather and parents have access to countless resources on esoteric religions, paranormal phenomenon, and oddball legends
-Questioning: Max rarely takes anything at face value, and has a good instinctual "BS detector"

Weaknesses:
-Teenager: Max is still a teenager, with all the same problems as any other furson
-Physically Unimpressive: Outside of his totems, Max has no superpowers, and only a beginner's knowledge of martial arts
-Power Weaknesses: Totem magic requires the user to have carved the totem himself, and to have physical contact with the totem and the ability to speak in order to summon it. Also, the totems are useless if they are improperly carved or made from the wrong material, and some of the materials are expensive, gruesome, rare, or illegal to normally obtain. In addition, totem carvings take time and concentration to make
-Something To Prove: As a legacy hero, Effigy often feels the need to show he is worthy of his title, and might push himself too hard or take unnecessary risks

Bio:
Howard Wheeler, the first Effigy, was an anthropologist who traveled the world, learning the ancient and primal mechanisms of summoning magical creatures from totems. However, at the age of 62, he was forced to retire, not because of being unmasked or injured in battle, but because his own body began to turn against him. Rheumatoid arthritis made it incredibly painful to make the precise carvings necessary for his craft. His grandson, however, proved an eager student and a talented craftsman, mastering in 10 months a collection of totems that took Howard 3 years to master. Thus, Max Wheeler became the new Effigy, learning the arcane secrets of the totem and preparing to stake his claim as a superhero worthy of his grandfather's legacy, while still having to endure the trials of high school and adolescense!

Personality:
Though normally focused and intent on his studies, Max definitely has a softer, understanding side. That being said, his behavior is also influenced by his raging hormones, leading to your typical teenage angst and revved up sex drives. He's also a bit of a geek for collectible card games.
