Bio: Sylvia learned the ancient art of dowsing on her mother's knee, and hoped to become a superhero when she got a knack for it. However, the BOS rejected her claim, as dowsing was too easily faked, of insufficient utility, and impossible to verify. Unperturbed, she threw her efforts into another favorite activity. With her studies of Campbell and Jung, along with her skill at interviewing the isolated, elderly, and frequently dismissed, she quickly staked her claim as one of the leading folklore experts on the West Coast, publishing popular anthologies such as "Hoop Snakes and Hidebehinds", "The 50 Most Famous Hauntings in the World", and "Forgotten Curatives". She also makes a little money on the side as a professional dowser.

Personality: Optimistic, cheerful, and flirtateous. She knows not to believe every story she hears, but keeps an open mind and never outright rejects anything. She's also not afraid to show a little skin (or a lot), bat her eyelashes, and generally play up to a man's baser instincts.

Support for: Mostly mystically inclined superheroes, especially the Son of Shuck. She's one of the few mortals who knows Blake's double life, and frequently collaborates with him on his novels.
