-Fae Physiology: As the Son of Shuck, Blake has the physiology of a fae, with all of its benefits and weaknesses. Powers based on this physiology include:
--Super Strength: Able to lift 50 tons above his head without risk of injury
--Super Speed/Reflexes: Able to run at 35 mph, and react with proportional speed
--Super Endurance: Does not experience fatigue
--Near Invulnerability: No lasting damage is caused by most attacks, except for powers based on magic, Heaven or Hell, unarmed brute strength, or the three weaknesses of the fae
--Super vision: Telescopic vision, night vision, and the Sight
-Planar transportation: Blake is able to walk "sideways from the sun" and cross several miles in less than a second by traveling through the realm of the fae
-Fear manipulation: Blake is able to cause crippling panic in weak-minded enemies, and calm fear in civilians or allies
-Empathy: Blake is able to sense the emotions and intents of people
-Altered rest: Blake's mortal body reacts to time spent in fae form as though he were asleep

Strengths: Blake is an exceptionally wily and creative individual, which often allows him to outwit people who would attempt to exploit his weaknesses. Even without his ability to manipulate fear, his large size and eerie appearance can make him quite intimidating. To those without ill intent, however, he is a perfect gentleman. He also has contacts within the fae community, giving him insight on goings-on that mortals might not know.

Weaknesses: Blake cannot assume his fae form when he is touched by daylight, and sunlight causes him to instantly revert to his mortal form. While fae, he is unable to tell a direct untruth, although he is more than capable of telling half-truths, twisting the meanings of words and idioms, and out-right refusing to talk. He also shares the three physical weaknesses of all fae. Salt makes his flesh feel raw and sensitive to pain. Rowan wood makes his flesh feel like it is on fire. Forged iron, that is, iron crafted by hand on an anvil, causes any muscle it cuts to become weak and numb. Also, he is capable of being injured in unarmed combat against a foe of considerable strength, in what he calls the "Grendel effect". Finally, any oath or promise he makes in fae form cannot be broken at any time.

Bio: For most of his adult life, Blake was able to make more than a comfortable living writing novels about the fae under the pen-name of Benjamin Shook. His world was turned upside down, however, when his blind mother died of a staph infection, requesting in her final will that her ashes be scattered at an abandoned bus stop in the countryside of East Anglia at night. Traveling to England, Blake dutifully carried out his mother's final wishes, and received the shock of his life when the famous road guardian, Black Shuck, appeared, claiming to be Blake's father. Black Shuck taught Blake how to control his powers as a half fae, and charged him to continue his work in America, also warning him to never take any oath or make any promise that he may later regret. Blake decided not to register with the BOS for this reason, and decided to take the identity of the Son of Shuck. Upon returning to the States, he found that he now had numerous lesser fae willing to help him, due to his father's influence among those unaligned with the Sidhe or the Unsidhe. His copper torc is a sign of this refusal to align with either of the two courts, and also serves as a way to mentally control his transformations.

Personality:
Regardless of his form, Blake is a gentleman, often quick with a play on words or a clever quip. While he is heterosexual, and definitely has an eye for pretty ladies, he prefers long, slow courtship over the tumultuous head-over-heels dive into passion that so often results in divorce and hurt feelings. While he is a bit lawyerly in his choice of wording, his intentions are always pure, and he gives little mercy to those who would attack their fellow fursons for quick cash, a moment of release, or a thrill.
