Wow! Nice work on this little scene. You certainly made it look brutal enough for what appears to be an interrogation. My only critique, and this is simply from doing some films and television, is that depending how old those injuries are I'd expect a little more discoloration from the bruising on his face that would likely have started to develop from the hits he's taken. Like some subtle blues and yellows around the cuts. Aside from that, awesome work!

I had actually put in some sick bruises in the flats ( http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/8307/z6k8.jpg ), but they got totally washed out by overlay gradients in the final tweaking ; u;!! Which isn't so much an excuse as it is something for me to be aware of next time * U*I'm super glad you dig it :]!!

Aha! I can see that now. Yeah I can understand then I didn't know the gradients would have influenced the pic that much! But good to know on my end as well that it was something you thought of. Should know better that a talented artist like yourself would have thought of that haha.
