I wasn’t sure what to think of Shadow Bonnie and Freddy until the springsuits were introduced. I believe that the original actors died inside them and now their ghosts are part of the haunting.

But since they were just ghosts, they couldn’t prevent the murders that followed their unfortunate accident.
