It took me surprisingly long to get around to drawing a cicada considering I've taken to naming myself after them. But inevitably it happened, and she's become my favorite avatar since. I'm not sure she's actually named Tettix, but it seemed appropriate. I usually just end up calling her "cicada woman."

I'm starting to see more insects in the fandom. The first one I encountered was Morphology with her Tarantula hawk wasp. And now I have seen at least 4 other insects. I've also discovered that trying to make practical costume wings for insects, and just wings in general, is difficult.

Insects are pretty darn cool. My girl here is kind of insect lite since she's about 90% human looking, but still. I can see where bug wings would pose their own unique problems.

I think she's the first anthro cicada I've seen, she looks very beautiful, especially the wings and the colors.
