Rains had come as they should for many seasons and the plains have remained green and fertile. The herds have multiplied and hunting has been good and on this day, Haushay made her first solo kill, a prime male. She did not know it at the time but the Pride Queen had been watching, and afterword, the Pride King summoned her to him to speak with and feast with her, a great honor. Later, as she was leaving, the Pride Queen called her over to a secluded spot to talk and inform her of the kings ultimate intensions.
The Queen confided in her the fact that she was well beyond her prime and had finally become infertile, so for the last few weeks, she had been observing hunts in order to find a strong deserving successor. Haushay was one of the few left on the Queens list and today, with her quick, clean kill, gave the queen little doubt of her final choice. So, within days, Haushay would be called forth once more by the King but this time it will be during a full public gathering to announce the taking of a new queen....

After leaving the presence of the queen, Haushay wandered beyond the boundary of the village to be alone with her thoughts. Upon arriving at her destination, a small rocky rise overlooking the plain to the West, (a favorite spot), she lay down to observe the rain clouds on the horizon and to think.
Her first solo kill, well fed after a surprise meeting and dinner with the King himself, and then the revelation by the current Queen that she was to soon be mated with the King and become the new Queen. "There could be no better day" she thought.....

I am going to be AUCTIONING this piece off starting this week sometime, Probably tomorrow and it will run till next Sunday.

This is just a photo and much of the finer fur and other detailing doesn't show like it should and the color is washed out a bit. IRL is much better.

Thinking of doing a male lion next, love working with their colors. Anyone be interested in a male?
