Iris by Teiirka (critique requested)

Iris (critique requested)

Teiirka

8.5" x 11.5" color pencil with a little bit of marker.

Shot with camera and a lot of contrast was lost along with a smig of color. Also a little out of focus. Gonna get a proper scan later this week.

To me, this is a speed paint. Done under a week...speed paint! XD

The iris's color base was Copic marker (lavender) as was the hair(yellow ochre). Some warm grays were used in shading but otherwise color pencil was used on everything.

Had fun with her and learned a lot. May open commission slots for busts like this later in the year.

This will be for sale in the Anthrocon art show.

Critique and suggestions always welcome.

Your technique is wonderful as usual, but the face seems very cartoony to me and not as good as so many others you have done. The overall pose doesn't work for me (but that could be a personal taste thing). I love the flowers!

I didn't really try to make a realistic face on this one. Didn't try for toony ether, I just went with the face and pose I sketched just before I went to bed. I prefer more realistic myself, but this one I let ride. Realistic would have had a longer muzzle I suppose.

I'll be back to realistic on the next one.

I love her eyes! So pretty. And the pose/piece flows nicely, quite pleasing to the eye. ^^

Such a beautiful pic, Teiirka; it really speaks to U with the depth and color U put into her outstanding lovelyness. Thanks for posting and stay awesome! -CR-
