Pokemon Sun team (critique requested)

TeamCapumon

This is the team I beat my copy of Pokemon Sun with! Some of them have slightly edited/different appearances compared to their canon counterparts (namely Vikavolt and Wishiwashi) but I wanted to spruce up their designs a little bit! And also yes my Rowlet had glasses and retained them in her final evolution, fight me

The team members/their information (as of becoming champion) are: (note: members are listed in the order that I added them to my team)

Pidge / Decidueye / Female / Level 55
Overgrow / Decidium Z
Naughty / Somewhat Stubborn
Sucker Punch / Brave Bird / Spirit Shackle / Leaf Blade

Grub / Vikavolt / Male / Level 53
Levitate / Quick Claw
Brave / Good Endurance
Dig / X-Scissor / Thunderbolt / Crunch

Lucifer / Snorlax / Male / Level 52
Thick Fat / Snorlium Z
Docile / Likes to Run (I couldn't stop laughing when I realized that was his Characteristic)
Giga Impact / Metronome / Heavy Slam / Crunch

(No nickname) / Wishiwashi / Female / Level 53
Schooling / Mystic Water
Careful / Highly Persistent
Scald/ Beat Up / Ice Beam / Aqua Tail

SandGuardian / Palossand / Female / Level 53
Water Compaction / Spell Tag
Impish / Likes to Fight
Shadow Ball / Psychic / Earth Power / Giga Drain

Mocha / Braviary* / Male / Level 54
Sheer Force / Normalium Z
Mild / Alert to Sounds
Superpower / Rock Tomb / Sky Drop / Crush Claw

The type balance in my team is far from perfect (also ghost types are so horrible to work with because so many Pokemon know Crunch/another dark type move...and Pidge can't take super effective hits well at all, and neither can SandGuardian for that matter) but I dont care, I love them because I get too attached to pixels //shot

Okay but can I just say... I REALLY enjoyed Pokemon Sun. Like every Pokemon it has its flaws, and this generation in particular introduced a lot of gameplay mechanics that...I'm really not fond of (as well as proving Mega Evolution to just be a gimmick, considering they didnt add any new ones this generation BI at least they still included it in the game, though) BUT they also introduced a lot of gameplay mechanics that I AM fond of (AKA pretty much every new mechanic besides Alolan Forms and Z moves...well I wasn't fond of the festival plaza either, but plenty of games have had something very similar, so I'm just neutral about it lol) as well as...I dont know, it just feels like a lot more effort and love was put into this game compared to other titles? At least compared to ORAS, anyways (because I dont trust my brain to remember anything before then, LOL, plus I enjoyed XY fine). Idk, I really enjoyed the characters and story this time around. Nothing spectacular by video game standards as a whole, but I say it's pretty good given the main game's track record with characterization and plot, lol. I do think some games might've had more interesting and grand plots, but SM focused more on the characters, which I'm absolutely a slut for. Seriously, if you couldn't tell, characterization is my favorite part of storytelling. And while I wouldn't say Lillie, Hau, and the other SM characters were amazing characters that felt real, I was far more interested in them and their stories than past characters. (Although I think Gen 5 was pretty good about characterization too, but idk, I have to replay the games-)

Alright I've rambled enough haha I need to get some sleep, but I seriously enjoyed Pokemon Sun. I can't believe I was actually worried about plot spoilers for a mainstream Pokemon game, but I was. Not enough that I got off the computer and rushed to finish it, but still enough x3

Time taken: I'd be lying if I said I kept track; I THINK I took two hours or less sketching them, and two hours or less lining them. So...less than four hours?

(Also if anyone's wondering - no, this isn't the original resolution, unlike most of my pictures. The full resolution is like 5800 x 3000 or something)

    This looks pretty rad.
I tend to avoid type overlaps and go for type diversity so I can cover as many of the types as I can while making sure there's no weak links in the chain. I enjoyed the new games as well but I thought they fell short in places. (I'm kind of biased towards the Gen V games, though.)

Ahh thank you so much! And same here; I almost always try to have as diverse of a team as possible, but then again, in my Y game my team had two fire types and two fighting types so xD I guess I'm not very good at avoiding overlapping types. I try to go for stronger Pokémon, but in general I just pick the ones that look the coolest tbh xD although I always make sure my Pokémon are evolved because unevolved Pokémon have always been really weak when I've used them (even Pokémon that are single-staged). Yeah, there were definitely some problems with the games, but overall I really enjoyed them. (Haha, I'm a huge fan of the Gen V games too, to be fair!)
