Wow, you're great at getting detail in when you need to! The coloring and texturing on the snow is marvelous and the slightly dulled green and house colors work marvelously in the night sky and really help the characters pop.

    Critique:
Something feels iffy about the lineart on the characters, though. It feels like it's messing with my depth perception a bit. Also, while the bear character is orange, being in the night sky would probably make him a little grayer, I think. It feels like everything except his orange fur has been affected by the atmosphere and surrounding.

Thanks for the feedback! I think you're right about the color balance and the lineart- I kept the orange vibrant in an attempt to push the character to the foreground but it does work against the overall ambient balance. I had a bit of trouble laying out the composition and the characters line placement wound up a bit weird in a way I wasn't certain how to adjust it.

Long ago i don't see the stars like this, something i loved to do in my childhood.
The pics is great, however since it is supposed to night, i would have used a small shade of gray or blue, a darker color in the areas that have a bright color, and the stars i feel that some of them could be brighter.
But as i said, is a great work already. : )

Thank you! These are very good points.
hummm, considering making some adjustments to the piece in the near future.

Glad could help somehow, actually this the first critic (or the closest thing to a critic) i do in my life. Is not very hard, but I'm just too shy to talk most times.
If you decide to make adjustments, i wish you luck, and don't forget, what really matters is what you think on your own works. : )

Wonderful scene! You did a really good job capturing a sweet moment and the stars look great!

One thing I would considering is your value grouping and where you're placing your contrast. Everything feels like it's at at the same level of really high contrast and tons of values. A good way to check it your values is just placing an adjustment layer ontop of everything that takes the saturation to zero and then you can get a better look at where your values are. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the advice Mr, you're totally right about the contrast! Little by little I'm attempting to intuit this sort of thing better.
