The public at the tracks were pretty confused when the gates opened. No more or less than the other jockeys when they got a good look at the competition... and then pretty soon at the backside of said competition.

They complained of course, but even the officials had tried and they could find no faults... The jockey, as it was, was dressed and decent and couldn't be disqualified for that. The racing chocobo as well, was wearing the prerequisite saddle and harness and even the reins; everything was official racing-approved gear and nothing was tampered with.

The only complaint Taross had was that they led hir into the winners paddock instead of allowing hir on the podium, but it'd probably break under hir weight anyway. Still... Won the race, got my prize. Don't care.
