Xerian Photoshoot by tapewolf

Xerian Photoshoot

tapewolf

Here's another photoshoot of my Synth character, Xerian, as brought to life by Raptor's Den.

This time I did a proper indoor shoot with a lighting rig and a computer-controlled camera programmed to fire every 20 seconds. The previous one was actually stills taken from a video.

The head, tail and gloves were made by Raptor's Den, the head electronics and software were designed by me, and the body is a second-hand set of racing leathers I found cheap on ebay that roughly matched his colour scheme. The boots are RST racing boots, and the racing gear works better with the head and tail than it has any right to.

The eyes are made up of two 16x16 LED matrices, driven by an Atmega328P on a little controller made from veroboard. There are two neopixel status lights in the horns, and I've programmed these to pulsate by default and flash when I talk. There's a Noctua fan in the muzzle and the facial expressions can be changed via a control glove in one hand - the thumb has a magnet and the fingers have reed switches. Touching one of the fingertips will trigger an animation with an LED flash on the CPU board for confirmation.

Partial was built by Raptor's Den ( https://www.furaffinity.net/user/raptorsden ), and the Synth species was created by Vader San ( https://www.furaffinity.net/user/vader-san )
