OK, I rarely do remixes like this, but this is a significant update to the original song and I think it deserves it. Hope you like.

Changes:
In my quest to make the song more 80s-sounding, I have replaced the Nord Micromodular with the resurrected Cheetah MS6 (which is 30 years old this year).
More noticeably I have redone the drums using gated reverb. The snare is honest-to-god gated reverb, i.e. I used a 1980s Vesta-Kaza spring reverb and a 1989 Alesis MicroGate.
The other drums are a mixture of the DM10 drums from the original version, and some 80s-sounding drums from a Korg N1R.
In addition, I rerecorded some of the vocals because they were off-key. I seem to have dialed the chorusing down a little from the original which is slightly disappointing but I hope the rest of it makes up for that.

The song, for those of you who've seen the original take, is based on the webcomic "Follow The Leader" by Jonas Goonface, and is largely the story of a Mafia fixer in 1980s America, who comes into conflict with a cult of shapeshifting, psychotic cannibal children who live in a park and are led by a supernatural entity who calls himself 'Fish'.

The comic can be found here, and the first four volumes are also available in print.

I have also made a video here: https://youtu.be/yj1t-SDKZfA

Recording was done in an Otari MX80, using a TASCAM TSR-8 for recording the vocals, and mixed on a Studer A807.
An Allen and Heath GL2400 mixing desk was used, and this is the first time I've used it in anger with the new Blue Dog power supply. There's a lot of hype about how the Blue Dog reduces system noise, but that actually turns out to have be true. A lot of the noise I assumed was tape hiss from the mastering deck has simply disappeared. I have no idea what witchcraft has been used, but I wish I'd had the thing when I mixed the last album.

Instruments used were:
Moog Voyager
Waldorf microWave (PPG sounds)
Waldorf Streichfett string synthesizer
Alesis DM10 drum machine
Korg N1R
1988 Cheetah MS6
TRAN speech synthesizer (a 1988 DOS program)
Raspberry Pi (sample playback)
...While I did experiment with recording bass, it sounded better without.

FOLLOW THE LEADER---FOLLOW THE LEADER---FOLLOW THE LEADER---FOLLOW THE LEADER

Live by the sword, die by the handgun
Run and be free, bowing to no-one

And it's all fine until the winter comes
And then the nights start drawing in
You get so hungry you could eat your friends
And that's the only way to win

FOLLOW THE LEADER---FOLLOW THE LEADER---FOLLOW THE LEADER---FOLLOW THE LEADER

His name in Fish, he is the master
He rules the park, feeds on disaster

And when you're hungry you will scrounge for food
And hunt the Crowd outside the park
They lock their doors and barricade them shut
And never come out after dark

FOLLOW THE LEADER---FOLLOW THE LEADER---FOLLOW THE LEADER---FOLLOW THE LEADER

Skulls will be smashed, necks will be broken
Men will be slain, filleted open

We shift our shapes and wander in the dark
And hide in places you won't see
A sudden blow and then your life is done
And now your name belongs to me
