...when you do something that makes Daryil facepalm, you know you've really jumped the tracks.
It should be pointed out that Furrae has quite a few female knights and warriors, for example, Glory the Paladin in Abel's Story, to say nothing of the Amazons. Hence, the ferret guy's sexism is likely some regional quirk. I mean, if a Demon or Angel waltzes into the local guild to offer their sword, who's going to say "no" just because they're female?
Anyway, this comic was done for 's birthday. I suddenly imagined her character Keaton auditioning to become a knight and slaughtering the person she was supposed to be sparring with. Just thinking about it made me laugh out loud, so I asked Merlin about it and this happened.
There were a few tweaks and alterations. Merlin originally drew Keaton in chainmail, but I had my heart set on platemail since she wore it so well in Heads You Lose. And chainmail is really hard to make fashionable, as Sunblink pointed out when I gave her this last night. So there was a bit of rework there.
Originally Keaton was also winking when holding Xerxes' head, but I felt it looked better with both eyes open, giving her a really happy expression, oblivious to the reaction from the onlookers. I really love their appalled expressions.
Anyway. Lines by Merlin, colour and some edits by me.
