Ori is an interesting character, as he went from a mindless parody of fanservice characters to the mercenary genius bruiser to the protective older brother figure and practical engineer that he is today. It was a long road for one of my two favorite primaries, and I'm glad that I didn't cast the lovable, huggable battledrake aside.
I think I'll use this as a rough template for subsequent reference art. The turnaround is valuable for visualizing the character from different angles and in three-dimensional form. Due to its dimensions and the amount of sketching and inking work required, such art will probably run in the $80-$100 range. I should have this colored in the next week or two, so we'll have a proper example for what you can get from Tankaa for a C-note.
I do think Ori will end up in fleece and foam well before Tankaa does, possibly even as early as sometime next year, budget allowing.
