Marc Thornton entered existence as a non-sophont entity in a small virchworld instance based off of an Old Earth media franchise. He wasn't even a Weregarurumon then, just a Gabumon and a cache of emergency management operations data. An unlikely series of events involving a hegemonizing subsumptionist entity, a Pyrrhic systemwide defense effort, an evacuation, and something known only as "The Device" resulted in a journey into the Known Volume...and soft but itchy fur.

That data cache would go on to define Marc's life as a biont. He would end up on the front lines of various crises, not as a soldier but as a source of hope, first as a rescue worker, then as a group commander. A lot of his missions were under the aegis of INTO. However, there was an incident during a "fun, exciting, outside-of-context disaster response scenario" training virch that resulted in a bout of catatonic depression and a career shift to aerospace research safety operations after he recovered.

There are still the drums. Not as often, therapy helped a lot, but the ostinato of a long-gone Old Earth classical composer still echoes in his nightmares. It's something all of the evacuees from that virch share.

Twenty years, or close to it. It depends on if the dream occurred when I was at home or during the LAN party at my uncle's place in late December. He didn't have the name, and wielded a sword, but my original OC was a Weregarurumon from that time I dreamed in anime. Had some fun transformation/suiting/cosplay aspects too. Now that I think about it, I had some odd dreams about Pokemon Mini Mecha around that time too...
