30-inch Godzilla Plush by KronoGarrett

30-inch Godzilla Plush

KronoGarrett

The stuffed Godzilla I had in college was getting pretty war-weary, so I decided to make a larger, slightly-improved copy of it to test out my new sewing machine. The Juki passed with flying colors, so here's the final product with a 6" Bandai G-Standard and tape measure for comparison.

I should have squared off the corners of the jaw and made the teeth somewhat longer, as the head is somewhat uneven. There are a few other spots with template slip, but all in all, it turned out pretty well for a first attempt. It took about eight pounds of fiberfill to stuff him, I'm lucky I bought another box. Making the 2.5x version is unlikely, I'm not sure if a 40-pound kaiju Squishable is all that desirable. (Okay, I know some of you want that sort of thing, but really, no.)

As the plush I copied is under copyright and might see another production run, I will not release a copy of the pattern or sell copies of the plush.

Damn, that thing is huge for a plush!!! I have the 15" tall one so i can imagine how huge your 30" one would be in person!

What other Toy Vault Godzilla plushes do you have?

This is the only one. It's been a learning experience, I'll probably remake it when I have time. (I have the wrong side of the fleece out, should have used a better grade of felt, and I need to figure out how to make the knots on the stitching that separates the toes and fingers just a bit more robust.)

I think I have SpaceGoji, Rodan, and...hm, I think the rest were Danny's.

I'm thinking about trying to make a Jira or Gfantis plush in a similar style (fleece with safety eyes and vinyl/felt details) after I'm done with the Zinogre suit and another project...

I have Toy Vault's Deformed Rodan plush and their King Ghidorah plush. I have a plush of Godzilla from Shin Godzilla thats made by Bandai. I'm glad I got mine when the price was $66 CND because now the price aren't any lower than $180.

I hope to get the Toy Vault Gigan and Anguirus plushes.

I wish I had been born earlier so i could've got them when they were brand new.
