The fiddly-bits are now gone and the suit is donned! Pretty soon, he will be a healthy shade of burgundy instead of this seafoam green color. Sixty-eight plates cover Baragon's back, each individually carved and glued.
The only things still undone are a once-over of a few edges with the glue gun or spray, plus the addition of a stray protrusion on each wrist. The base of the tail needs to be stuffed in order to keep it from collapsing. Other than that, this beast is ready for patterning!

"Fortunately, I keep my backplates numbered for just such an emergency."
It could have been better, honestly. As long as I don't spend too much time jumping around I can keep heat buildup to sane levels. Had I know a bit more about foam fabrication, it would have been lighter and a bit thinner.
Maybe I'll consider one of those circulatory cooling systems for a later suit design. If only they didn't cost a month and a half worth of my discretionary budget.
