I have a fondness of gambling in video games. In specific, ones that do not involve any real money at all, but still have tangible rewards and risks. After all, the allure of gambling is what you can win or lose, not necessarily the game itself!

For that reason, my two most favourite gambling games (when this comment was first written in 2013!) are Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 and Yakuza 2. The former has hundreds of costumes, accessories, and jetskis to win, and the latter lets you spend your winnings anywhere you want in a Japanese city, from ice cream parlours, to arcade machines, to buying meals and drinks, to getting massages, to hostess clubs. I love it.

An update from 2016:- These days, I've been playing a ton of mahjong and pachinko games on Super Famicom to get my gambling kicks, but the Yakuza series is still the ultimate in gambling games!
