Mai, for nekophoenix, from when I did a whole bunch of quick things for a community event.
I've always wanted to draw this character so this was a good opportunity. I just can't resist PINK (or warm colors, really.)

I'm so glad you like it! (: I really had a lot of fun.
Also there's a secret to the devil-may-care-hair! All you need to do is take a shower at night, apply a ton of non-gel styling product, half dry it, and then sleep on it. I would say about 60% of the time it works... the other 40% of the time is definitely Hat Time. It's relatively little effort tho so it's a pretty high pay-off for the times when it works. The things I do to avoid messing with it in the morning u_u;

The fact it's one of my characters AND it's traditional - god, it makes me so nostalgic for the days wehn I would just draw for fun and only with pencils, and it's filling my heart with such a lovely warm feeling <3
This is SUCH a sweet gift, It was a complete surprise and it's just so beautifully drawn! He looks so peaceful and content. Absolutely love how you've drawn those tails too; they have a genuine weight to them and his hair has this dishevelled sort of bed head look which is just awesome - I want it for my own hair hahaha!
