I played City of Heroes back when NCSoft still operated servers for it. It shouldn't be a surprise that I started playing on the Homecoming servers once those existed. And this is one of my characters on those servers. (Electric Blast/Storm Summoning Corruptor, in case anyone cares.)

Short version of the backstory is that Corax was (and kind of still is) a human who swiped a book of spells from a Circle of Thorns acolyte because he wanted to call up some minor spirits to do menial tasks. He screwed up the spells and got the attention of the Big Names, but one of them (an aspect of Raven) was amused enough by the theft to convince the other spirits "okay, we'll help you out...but we're doing it our way". Hence the superhero stormbirb thing.
