ODT-1U2 Unguided Rocket Launcher by Svaros

ODT-1U2 Unguided Rocket Launcher

Svaros

With the realization of the effectiveness of the Common Launcher Rail, Imperial Light and Machine Works (ILMW) set out to consolidate the other rocket launcher systems into one simple design. Little more than a plastic tube, the ODT-1U2 has proven to be adaptable, reliable, and with as many ammunition options as possible.

The use of the CLR provided a significant bump in accuracy compared to the previous systems, with the unit's built-in range finder and reflector gunsight allowing the user to put a round almost precisely on target at a certain distance, with the user only having to adjust for motion and environmental conditions. These rockets are effective only up to about 500 meters. Still, they're considered plenty adequate for a squad of infantry that's having to deal with armor, a fortification, or another item that needs to be handled explosively. Once fired, the plastic tube is discarded.

The system can be augmented with the CLR Tablet, allowing the reticle to be adjusted for windage and greater ranges. It also allows for a continually calculated release point (CCRP). Identifying a target will enable the operator to adjust for the proper angle, allowing the launcher with a tablet to be used as an impromptu mortar. Additionally, as with the guided launcher, a remote link can create ambushes and other hazards to enemy forces.

Ammunition available for the ODT-1U2 includes the following. HEAT, or High Explosive, Anti-Tank, is the most common type of ammunition designed to take out armored vehicles. Thermobaric is used against fortifications with staggering effect, and Incendiary uses a pyrophoric compound for anti-fortification purposes. Finally, High Explosive Plastic is used against troops and light armored vehicles in the open.
