The nature of urban warfare proved to be a harsh mistress to those of the pre-Tolesian Commonwealth monarchy, the Valshad Empire. Modern urban combat had exposed numerous traditional tank designs to attacks from above and the flanks, and the longer barrels prevented proper elevation and depression in tight urban spaces. The results of these learned lessons were not only a continued emphasis on improving urban warfare training and doctrine but on developing a vehicle that could work. The Valshad looked to the success of hastily retrofitted anti-aircraft guns and IFVs and determined that middle ground between these two systems would be needed. Thus the first Urban Battle Behemoths (UBB) was created and deployed with a reasonable degree of success.

Modern Tolesian designs, like the TVH-6U4 "Bravan" Urban Battle Behemoth by Imperial Light and Machine Works (ILMW), have taken this to the next level, with two twin 36mm revolver cannon designs offering a reasonable rate of fire and reliability against close-in air targets and infantry. Multipurpose missiles allow the engagement of aircraft, fortifications, and heavily armored vehicles. This capability is rounded off by advanced sensors that give the commander and gunner a clear and comprehensive view of the battle. All this on the dependable and proven 6th generation ILMW heavy vehicle chassis.

These tanks are jack of all trades, with good firepower, mobility, and protection. While found on every planet, these are very common on the periphery of the Commonwealth. UBBs generally serve as a planetary militia's most heavily armed vehicle, where they defend against raids by aliens or pirates. UBBs may also provide security and ensure domestic safety (when equipped with riot rounds or other less-than-lethal technology).
