Hrmmm, as far as my thoughts on this dude while drawing him--
I was thinking personally along the ideas of him being a spirit that travels very close to shore in the seafoam, perhaps maintaining the tide and waves. I was thinking along the lines that his shells are either things he collects from the tide, or perhaps totems linked to him as a spirit or a power of his. I could see many different interpretations for the shells, though, so feel free to go crazy or perhaps add more or less or whatever you'd prefer for him!-
Yeah, of course! I did start a sketch of him, though. I'm trying to get a feel for his anatomy and everything. I gave him a generic pose, but do you have any critiques? It still doesn't look quite right to me yet. I might mess with some of his scales too because I think I made them too small on his side. http://i61.tinypic.com/awdhkg.png
But I really like the idea of him collecting the shells from the seashore. I think it would be cool for him to be a spirit that guides the tide and determines when it will be high tide and low tide, and also being involved with the waves and everything. I think that would be a good opportunity for him to have a unique relationship with the moon, too, since the moon affects the waves and the tide, as well. Do you have any name suggestions? I'm having some trouble thinking of one... I should look up names related to water or something.

Perhaps I'll consider making more similar spirits! I might make dudes similar to this guy, but I will never reuse lineart for adopts like these so they will all remain unique (in more ways than one since I'll vary up a ton of traits of course.)
