Guilt Unicorn by Susiron

Guilt Unicorn

Susiron

Revamp of my Guilt Unicorns. I always intended for them to be closer to deer rather than horses, so it’s about time I drew them looking more cervine.

Unicorns of Lorn are hardy animals that can survive extremely cold climates with their thick coats and sturdy legs.

They are a creature surrounded by superstition. Possessing a call that sounds something like a mixture between high-pitched screaming and a wolf’s howl, they have earned respect as unlucky spirits. It’s said that being in the sheer presence of a Unicorn is unlucky— and that to kill one is to lose any chance of luck in life. Contradictory, it is also said to be very lucky to possess the hair or horn of a Unicorn, so long as the beast was never harmed by the holder’s hands. Those that are not superstitious have been known to hunt down Unicorns and sell parts of their bodies on the market for high quantities of silver and gold.

Perhaps not helping the distrustful air that they acquire, Unicorns are omnivorous, scavengers at times. They are also very territorial and have been known to pierce humans on the ends of their horns, protecting the woods that they inhabit from encroaching villages.

Colour-wise, they range from pale creams to solid blacks. Spots, stripes, and other such patterns are common on them, particularly in males.

"Guilt" and its creature specifics are mine.

Drawn on SAI.

I love the fact that your unicorns are more like deer than horses, I always think that makes them a lot more believable and earthy

      Thank you! c:

And I'd have the agree. :3 -- I love the equine-like ones as well, but they look more showy and less real to me

You're welcome. The equine ones always looked too heavy to me, I imagined them to be a lot more elegant and deer fit that aspect more
