A revamp of my OC, Merchant (and his species, mock dragons.)
Mock dragons are small, bipedal dragons without wings. Their snouts end in a hard, beak-like shape and their eyes are large and slit-pupiled. Their forelimbs are small, but strong and capable of grasping; their hind legs are long and springy, allowing them to cover long distances quickly. Their tails are very long and flexible. The limb is prehensile and capable of holding objects more efficiently than the forelimbs. When not in use, the tail often rolls up like a chameleon’s.
Mock dragons earn their name for an innate ability—and almost desire— to mimic humanoid culture. They speak humanoid languages fluently (although in guttural accents), and can often be seen wearing clothes and participating in humanoid-centic activities. Some, like Merchant, have integrated into Elder societies as participating members. Despite what they are capable of, many Elders still look down on them as second-class citizens.

Yeppp, but they manage to get through the worst of it-- and bite those that give them too much trouble lD-
LMAO yeah. I'm just sensitive to that kind of thing because a. real world bigotry sucks, and b. I have a character who's an elf who gets anti-elf racism thrown at him all the time, so just...weh. :C

Oh man yeah I feel you there rghjtrbhgtbh
My entire story (that these guys are from) is kind of based around humans being dicks to other sentient species (like elves, dragons, mers, etc), and pretty much trying to eliminate them. So my characters get quiteeee a bit of shit thrown their way-

In the thing I was talking about, humans would probably LOVE to eliminate elves because they're seen as creepy emotionless robots (except they don't know what a robot is but whatever), but they really can't because elves are too magically powerful. But the character I mentioned, he actually almost got gutted - like, literally - because of that kind of sentiment, so...yeaaaahhhh racism sucks. ):|

PS, that "robotic" element for your elves seems like a super cool trait for them!-
They're not literally robots, they just don't have feelings so that's kind of the vibe people get from them. I know robots COULD eventually be complicated to actually have feelings, but you know what I mean, right? |D Like...elves in that world are basically just like (organic) machines operating on LOGIC AUTOPILOT. They do have some thoughts, but they pretty much have nothing in the way of feelings or opinions.
Aaaaand then there's Dimas, who's a fluke throwback to humans (which elves evolved from) and CAN feel stuff. So getting attacked by bigots? It traumatizes him. A lot. :C
(Sory I just love talking about my characters dskjfsddkfjg. And you seem like you appreciate original character stuff. ;~;)

And AHHHH poor Dimas ; n ; -- gotta beat up those bullies for him!My elves are kind of similar in that they're related to humans, but the folklore they believe in sort of follows a creation story that sections creatures into three classes-- "animals," "Mythics," and "Elders." Each species group has something in each class, like fauns are the Elders to even-toed ungulates and their Mythics are the unicorn. For elves, they are the Elders to humans, and "guilts"-- a weird empath species that Roger is apart of-- are considered animals in that given group (although they're more there by default position and usually considered a secondary Elder lol)
And man do I ever love talking about OCs; no apologies necessary! My own OCs are super close to my heart so I really enjoy engaging people over theirs as well. It's interesting and fun to see how expressive people get when you bring up their OCs ; u ;

Hnngh yeah. Sadly, he wasn't really able to get them back for it, he barely managed to get away. :C And he's really not one for revenge, he's too nice, so...they got way with it. Same thing for his rapists. (...HOLY SHIT Dimas has been traumatized a lot.)

FFF I SHOULD. Hugging is just hard to position, though, and I've been in a rut for the past few years where I only draw headshots. I know it's bad, though, so I really should draw something more complicated. ;~;
To be honest, your art is inspiring me to try more complicated things. :3 Even your sketches look polished to me, and your colors are handled so well and fff yeah I think I have a crush on your art, it's really growing on me. |D
