Johanna is a seedrian who was born on Starlite who aspired to be a knight. Then she heard of the Petal Sun, the guards of Queen Luna. So after starting to train at home on Starlite, Johanna left for Astria to enter the Petal Sun's ranks. Upon arriving, Johanna met Venoria, the captain of the Petal Sun, who asked that Johanna take a tough training exam to be allowed in. After a few tries, Johanna passed the exam, and was allowed to become part of the Petal Sun.
